Hope G. Wallace
Date Of Birth: 11/09/1933
Date of Death: 07/22/2013
Hope G. Wallace passed away on July 22 in the garden that she loved in her adopted city of Portland, Oregon. She had spent a wonderful day with her beloved boyfriend Gene Anderson and went peacefully. At 79 she had lived a rich and passionate life. She always said that her greatest joy was her three children: Stephen Omohundro, Heather Gilbert, and Rodney Wallace. She also dearly loved her two grandchildren: Scott Gilbert and Devin Wallace. She was so happy to be with her entire family a few months before she passed at Scott’s wedding in Tennessee. She also got a lot of joy from reconnecting with her sister Christina Wokowsky as an adult. Beyond family, Hope was passionate about learning, helping people, and environmental issues. She and Gene would do the crossword puzzle every morning and keep up on all the latest world events. They loved going to museums and cultural events. Hope loved volunteering at the hospital where she could make a real difference in patients’ lives. She also volunteered for years at the Nature Conservancy and was awarded their 2004 Ray C. Davis Volunteer of the Year Award. She will be dearly missed by her family and all that knew her. But her passion and giving spirit will live on.
