DeAnne J. Moser
Date Of Birth: 06/09/1940
Date of Death: 02/13/2021

DeAnne Janette Moser , 80, of Hillsboro, OR, died peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021.
She was born in Minot, ND, on June 9, 1940, the first of four children of Darwin and Clyda Langland Thompson. On Sept. 12, 1958, she was married to Kenneth Moser at Zion Lutheran Church in Minot. They moved to Oregon, eventually making their home in Hillsboro where they raised four daughters.
DeAnne loved little children and was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She sewed many of her own clothes and those of the girls—who often sported matching dresses at church on Sunday—and put together many wonderful Halloween and Kiddies Day Parade costumes. She spent several weeks each summer poolside while the girls took swimming lessons, and many more hours supporting children and grandchildren at their softball games and other sporting events. She had an in-home day care for several years before they were called that. She baked countless cookies, birthday cakes, and Christmas treats; and canned dozens of jars of fruit for the family.
Over the years, DeAnne worked at Washington Federal Bank, Portland General Electric, Washington County Board of Commissioners, and Mooberry Elementary School in Hillsboro, before her retirement in 2003.
Alzheimer’s disease forced a move out of her home in 2019; most recently she was under the excellent care of the staff at Brookside Memory Care and Tenderly Hospice in Tigard, OR.
DeAnne was preceded in death by brothers, Gregg and Harland Thompson; brothers-in-law, Cleo Moser and Jim Morgan; and sister-in-law Connie Thompson Furst.
She is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth; sister, Betty Jo (Wes) Sorenson; daughters, Debbie (Lou Hesse), Lori (David Wynn), Lisa (Dave Ellis), and Tanya (Greg Gottschalk); grandchildren Dayna (Shane Hall), Ben Hesse (Kelli), Rachel (Josh Kemp); Sara (Christopher Fleming), Brandon Wynn (Elizabeth), Brian Wynn; Daniel Ellis, Amanda Ellis, Kyle Ellis, Erika Ellis (Glen Copeland), and Aubreyanna Ellis; Hunter, Avery, and Addison Gottschalk; and 14 great-grandchildren: Danelle and Thea Hall; Nicholas, Eli, Lauren, and Adah Hesse; Garrett, Gavin, Ruston, and Kellan Kemp; Kaden Fleming and his unborn brother; Talia Tornincasa; and Brynlee Copeland; several nieces and nephews; and lifetime best friend, Betty McDonald.

Funeral services will be 10 AM Friday, Feb. 26 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Cornelius, OR. Burial will take place at Valley Memorial Park in Hillsboro. Viewing will be held Thursday, Feb. 25, from 2-4 PM at Springer & Son, 4150 SW 185th Ave., Beaverton. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Association in her memory would be greatly appreciated.

    Dear Ken & girls,
I have been kept up to date by M Zaderaka & I was so pleased to see the video, where DeAnne could be seen saying “I love you!” My heart was breaking for you & the family but I will always remember how clear she seemed to thinking & how lovely she was. We were friends in highschool & enjoyed those special times.
Sending my condolences to you & all the family. Betty (Jothen) Field (class of ’58 – Minot High).
