In Loving Memory of Darwin Jones

Darwin Jones was born in Hillsboro, Oregon, to Clayton and Dorothy Jones. He spent much of his life in Oregon, including many years in the family home in Tigard.

He proudly served in the United States Navy for nearly six years, entering active duty in January of 1970, and received an honorable discharge in 1976. He was stationed in Seattle, Washington, and worked in electronics and mechanics, including aboard a submarine. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal for his service.

Darwin had a lifelong interest in electronics and mechanics and enjoyed reading science fiction, watching Star Trek, and spending time at the beach.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clayton and Dorothy Jones, and his older brother, Donald Jones. He never married.

In his later years, Darwin lived at Washington Gardens Memory Care, where he was cared for by a compassionate and dedicated team. He also received hospice care from Pinnacle Hospice. The care and support provided by both teams brought him comfort and dignity during his final years.

He will be remembered for his service to his country, his independent spirit, his technical interests, and his appreciation for the ocean and science fiction.

May he rest peacefully.
