Sherri Curtis Banks
Date Of Birth: 06/26/1960
Date of Death: 03/01/2023
Sherri Lynn Curtis Banks, 62, of Beaverton, Oregon was called home to heaven on March 1, 2023 after a two year battle with cancer. A memorial service is planned for Saturday, April 29 at Harvest Community Church in Hillsboro, Oregon.
Sherri was born June 26, 1960 in Bethany, Missouri to Gerald and Annette Broyles. The oldest of seven siblings, Sherri spent most of her life caring for those around her. She was a dedicated wife to Keith and the proud mother of Jenna.
Sherri graduated from Creighton University with a BA in Organizational Communications. She worked for 35 years as an Information Systems consultant and project manager, including 16 years at Nike and six years at Alcor Tech. She found meaningful purpose in her job and thought of her teammates like a second family.
Sherri enjoyed music, singing, dancing, and good food. She was also an accomplished jewelry maker with a coordinated necklace and earrings for almost every outfit. Sherri loved to travel and was always planning the next big trip. Her adventures took her across the country and around the world, but she was happiest walking along the Oregon coast or on a warm beach, watching the ocean.
Sherri was a creative woman with a joyful laugh, vibrant smile, and beautiful heart. She was a hard worker, a true friend, and a faithful follower of Christ. She will be remembered for her strength, patience, and kindness by those whose lives she touched.
Sherri is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Shauna. She is survived by her husband, Keith; daughter, Jenna; her siblings David (Judith), Dan (Shelly), Mike (Jacqueline), Shandra (Greg) Carlsen, and Sharla (Brian) Peterson; as well as countless friends, colleagues, and loved ones. She is deeply missed.
The family encourages donations in her memory to View the Future, a non-profit organization that works to preserve and enhance walking trails along Sherri’s favorite stretch of Oregon coast.
