Jess C. Lozada
Date Of Birth: 01/07/1924
Date of Death: 01/11/2014

Jess C. Lozada, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, died on Saturday, January 11, 2014. He loved to mow the lawn; drive the tractor, go fishing and crabbing, play cards, enjoy parties at his home and make sure everyone had a drink. Watching the fish in the koi pond was his delight. Each fish had a name. He loved his family and enjoyed the special nickname of Grandpa Soda. He wanted to live to be 90 and he did, plus four days.

He loved his wife, Billie (of 58 years) and told the story of them buying a huge walnut tree and the house came with it. He loved God and country and served them both well. He loved to volunteer and donate to many charities. Playing the lottery was fun for him and he was going to leave his winnings to his family. He did leave us “rich” with life long memories and a great example on how to live life. He was a man of faith and had many prayers he kept in his wallet along with a miniature copy of his marriage certificate. He was a one woman man.

He could grow anything and planted trees all over his property. Jess shared the bounty of what he grew with everyone. He shared his home with those who needed a place to stay or a long term visit. There were always lots to eat and plenty to drink. Family or friend you were always welcome to stop by and stay a while.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Peter Catholic Church in Newberg on Monday, January 20th at 11:00 a.m., followed by a graveside service at Mountainside Cemetery in Scholls.

In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations to St. Peter Catholic Church Building fund or charity of your choice.
