Marilyn Olson of Tigard has passed away at age 84. Born and raised in Yakima, Washington, Marilyn was a loving wife, mother, and friend. She worked for thirty years as an elementary school teacher in Washington and Oregon, living her final 52 years in the same house. Her legacy is one of kindness, approachability, common sense, and all-around Christian decency. She married Kermit Olson in 1967 and had twin boys in 1971. After retirement the couple enjoyed occasional travel to various countries. Throughout life she kept her mind sharp by reading thousands of books. Marilyn is survived by her sons, Douglas and Daniel (Helena), her grandson Theo, and her brother, Charles.
A memorial service will be held for Marilyn on Saturday, October 10, at 2pm at Westgate Baptist Church in Tigard. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend and celebrate her life. She was a blessing to all who knew her and will be profoundly missed.
