Nancy Jean Casey

Nancy Casey, wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend passed away on July 14, 2017, after a bout with cancer. She was surrounded by her husband and life companion Tim Casey and daughters Kelly and Teresa of Forest Grove, Oregon. She also bids farewell to her siblings, Peg White of Arizona, Patty Flahive of Illinois, Barbara Drumm of Indiana, Bill Burnett, Cathy Burnett and Jean Mahone of Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Bob.
Nancy was born in Park Forest, Illinois, daughter of Robert and Margaret Burnett. She stayed in the Chicago area until moving to Bisbee, Arizona in 1978 where she met her husband and best friend. In 1981 they moved to Forest Grove, Oregon. She was a homemaker, volunteered in the community, her daughter’s classrooms and the Forest Grove Public Library.
Nancy loved spending time with her family. She had a love of books and reading. Berry picking, canning and baking were also some of Nancy’s preferred seasonal hobbies. Fall was Nancy’s favorite season, she appreciated nature walks at the wetlands in Forest Grove.
Nancy enjoyed jewelry making and partook in ceramics in the past.
Another favorite activity was being on the Oregon Coast staying in a favorite hotel in Lincoln City or the wonderful little beach house her family rented all through the years.
Nancy left this world emulating bravery, strength, honesty, beauty and a heart full of love. Her great
sense of humor and wit prevailed until her final days.
A private family gathering will be held to celebrate Nancy.
